The levels
To what extent these principles can be included in an overall political strategy remains to be seen. There are signs that questions concerning the distribution of wealth cannot be solved in agreement beyond the level of the local community – this must be one of the scourges of mankind.
In Copenhagen it is the intention that the hard issues of sharing be-tween rich and poor parts of the city and of setting minimal standards for schools, institutions and services (to a great extent regulated by law), will still be dealt with within the parliamentary system in the partybased City Council.
But – in good keeping with the principles of permaculture up until now, it seems all right that we move forward at a moderate pace so we still can foresee the consequences. The development of the principles is always the result of concrete and practical experience – not of superior spiritual or political dogmas.
