The main obligations
of the Permaculture Institute of Europe are:
European Convergences, organized every second or third year. There
have been 5 of the kind: the first one in Germany in 1991, the second
in England 1993, the third in Germany 1995, the fourth one in Slovenia
in 1997, the fifth in Czeck Republic in 1999. The 6. european convergence
will be in Slovakia in 2001. It was decided in.the convergence in
1995, that the place for fiuture convergences should be in the eastern
europeans convergences, to give eastern european people possibility
to participate.
European Diplomas
Diplomas can be issued by regional associations according to the
set of rules stated by the Convergence of Permaculture Graduates,
1986 - and the International Permaculture Convergences. The European
Conevergence can therefore issue Diplomas, in cases were the national/regional
association still not are formed or not are able to agree on an
application - or not are able to get a nomination firom a local
Diplomaholder. The conditions for applying for the Diploma at the
European Convergence are as follows:
- You shall
state at least two years practise in one or more of 12 permaculture
categories.
- You shall
do that by sending your documentation to the Institute one year
before the convergence so it can be publised together with the
calling of the convergence.
- The documentation
shall be followed by an recommandation from at least one Dipomaholder,
who is familiar with the work done.
- The applicant
and the recommendator shall on the Convergence do a presentation
of the work performed, and participate in a discussion about it.
Certificate
holders who are members of an european national or regional association
decides here a~er if the applicant can be accepted to a Diploma.
- this will be issued by the Convergence and signed by the representative
from the European Institute and the recommendator.
- European, International and Global link The European Institute
serve as a link between european groups, associations etc. At the
same time do we have an obligation to look into the use of the word
"Permaculture" which are protected under the international
registration mark.
